Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first single was released with the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained fame. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet back in 2012 after she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 she continued to upload her music via the internet, including her self launched single Bound. The song Sweat it featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's references. Then, later in the calendar, her songs circulated throughout Dreamville. On December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that she recorded with Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. She released Pho, her debut album on the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer on behalf of J. Cole on his song Change in 2017 and also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she appeared on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music clip was released, followed by a music video September. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. Two singles more were released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. She then appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February 2019 for her debut album of the same name. In February of 2019 the music video for the song was released. It has had more than three million YouTube views in just a single week. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
